CATEGORY TWO: The Enabling Gifts, which all Christians have the ability to develop (faith, discernment, wisdom, and knowledge -- qualities possessed rather than activities performed). Many scholars combine these gifts with others, based on the similarity of these gift characteristics and the synonyms used by Paul to describe them in ...

2 Timothy 2

23 But reject foolish and ignorant speculation, for you know that it breeds quarreling.  24 And a servant of the Lord must not be quarrelsome, but must be kind to everyone, able to teach, and forbearing.  25 He must gently reprove those who oppose him, in the hope that God may grant them repentance leading to a knowledge of the truth.  26 Then they will come to their senses and escape the snare of the devil, who has taken them captive to his will.

Washing feet was reserved for servants  Hair is supposed to be hidden from men Be gritty, grateful, and given; you carry the grace of God to others. -Ann Voskamp 2 Corinthians 2:14 Luke 24:21 Some people went looking for a political king Luke 9:23 every day there is something we need to do, or don’t feel like doing, and that is our cross.

The Power of a Grateful Heart

The Power of a Grateful Heart, 7 Things It Can Do: It gets our eyes off ourselves, and helps us to focus back on God. It reminds us we're not in control, but that we serve a Mighty God who is. It keeps us in a place of humility and dependency on Him, as we recognize how much we need Him. It helps us to recognize we have so much to be thankful for, even all of the little things, which often we may forget to thank Him for...but they really are the biggest, most important things in this life. It takes our attention off of our problems and helps us instead to reflect on, to remember, the goodness of His many blessings. It reminds us that God is the Giver of all good gifts. We were never intended to be fully self-sufficient in this life. A grateful heart reminds us that ultimately God is our Provider, that all blessings and gifts are graciously given to us by His hand. A heart of gratitude leaves no room for complaining. For it is impossible to be...

love languages

How do you feel loved?   Five Love Languages  Gary Chapman   Words of Affirmation : Actions don’t always speak louder than words. If this is your love language, unsolicited compliments mean the world to you. Hearing the words,  “ I love you,” are important-hearing the reason behind that love sends your spirits skyward. Insults can leave you shattered and are not easily forgotten.   Quality Time : In the vernacular of Quality Time, nothing say s , “I love you” like full, undivided attention. Being there for this   type of person is critical, but really being there-with the TV off, fork and knife down, and all chore s and  tasks on stan d by-makes you feel truly special and loved. Distractions, postponed dates, or the failure to listen can be especially hurtful.   Gifts :  Don’t mistake this love language for materialism; the receiver of gifts thrive s on the love, thoughtfulness, a nd effort behind the gift. If you speak this language, the per...
